BRPH Now Seeking Applicants for Andy Miller Georgia Tech Scholarship
MELBOURNE, FLA. July 1, 2024 – BRPH, a nationally ranked architecture, engineering and construction firm with 10 offices nationwide, is now accepting applications for the second annual Andy Miller Georgia Tech Scholarship. The $5,000 scholarship was created in honor of current BRPH employee, Andy Miller, vice president, chief engineer, principal, and Georgia Tech alumnus who celebrated his 40th anniversary with the firm in 2022. Miller is the longest-running employee of the company which was founded in 1964, and the backbone of the firm’s vast portfolio of aerospace and defense projects.
The scholarship is awarded annually to an engineering student at Georgia Tech who is pursuing a degree in civil engineering with a specialization in structural engineering. To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be enrolled full time as an undergraduate or graduate student at Georgia Institute of Technology for the 2024-2025 academic year.
- Be enrolled in a civil engineering program with a concentration in structural engineering
- Reside in the United States
- Be at least 18 years of age
Students must submit an essay of 500 words or more (maximum of 1,000 words) on the following prompt:
Explain what attracted you to pursue a civil engineering degree with a specialization in structural. Explain its significance to you and how you see yourself in the future as an engineer.
The deadline for application is Oct. 15, 2024.

The inaugural award was given to Jacob Nguyen, a senior undergraduate civil engineering student at Georgia Tech. In his application essay, Nguyen, naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Vietnam, described how the 2021 collapse of the condo tower in Surfside, Florida, inspired him to change his major to civil engineering. He was selected from more than 100 applicants.
