What drew you to an internship at BRPH
“Being from the Space Coast, I’ve always been enamored with aerospace, so I was drawn to BRPH’s wide range of market exposure, especially in the aerospace, manufacturing and industrial sectors.”
What’s the most meaningful thing you’ve experienced at BRPH?
“Sitting in on the design handoff meeting for an aerospace project was a great opportunity to learn about the beginning of a large project and better understand the architecture and engineering process.”
Any advice you’d give to future interns
“Future interns should push themselves to be involved at every stage of a project for a comprehensive understanding of design.”

What kind of work have you been involved in during your internship?
“I’ve worked on FF&E selections, schematic furniture design, Revit tag-ups, and organizing the material room and client finish boxes.”

Most meaningful part of your internship?
“The most meaningful thing I’ve done so far is find a great company to work for after I finish my degree while learning how interior designers collaborate to create successful projects.”

Describe a task you were given during your internship
“This summer, I explored computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to model cleanrooms and improve airflow while reducing energy consumption and operating costs.”
What impact did mentorship have on your experience?
“My mentors played a big role in my success at BRPH by giving me opportunities to work on real projects, learn and grow. A huge thank you to Jeanne Jackson, Richard Hunton and Daniel Quinones”

“Stay curious, don’t hesitate to ask questions and stay proactive. Every project is a learning opportunity that comes with more responsibility and experience.”

What tasks were you involved in during your internship?
“This summer, I’ve jumped right into hands-on work by reviewing shop drawings, developing structural details in Revit, and designing structural supports, floors and decks.”
Most meaningful part of your internship?
“Visiting Boeing 88-48 in Charleston gave me a new appreciation for the design process and made me excited to see my own designs come to life one day.”

What tasks were you involved in during your internship?
“This summer, I’ve helped track building codes, prepare architectural submittals, and incorporate client and QC comments into drawings while gaining a better understanding of the collaboration behind each project.”
Most meaningful part of your internship?
“The most meaningful experience for me was contributing to an architectural submittal, which gave me a better understanding of the drawing process and reinforced that I was making an impact, not just observing.”

What tasks were you involved in during your internship?
“I’ve been working onsite at Blue Origin’s LC-36 launchpad rebuild as an Assistant Superintendent, coordinating with subcontractors, leading meetings, solving field challenges and tracking project progress.”

“Erik Anderson, Cliff Higgins and Tyler Timmons have mentored me through their guidance and actions, showing me the importance of asking questions, creating solutions and leading by example.”
How would you describe your experience at BRPH?
“If I had to sum up my internship in one word, it would be ‘opportunity’. I’m grateful to work alongside incredible people and be part of a project that’s making history.”
Joyce Zheng
Completing the final year of the Master of Architecture program at University of Michigan.
How has your role evolved since your previous internship with BRPH?
During my first internship, I balanced the creative and technical sides of architecture, while this summer, I’ve had the opportunity to work in hospitality during the early stages of design.
Most meaningful part of your internship?
Discovering the type of designer I want to become, learning from so many talents has helped solidify my own interests in the field.

“Try to learn something from every person you meet, including those outside the field. You may be surprised how much even small conversations can shape your own path.”
