Sustainable MRO facility expands Gulfstream’s capabilities in the Western United States

BRPH is providing architectural and engineering design services – teaming with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., Fisher Engineering, Inc., and the Epsten Group – for the $70 million, 225,000-square-foot facility. Scheduled to open in 2023, the facility is expected to achieve LEED Silver certification and will expand Gulfstream’s MRO capabilities in the Western United States.

“BRPH has long-standing relationship working with Gulfstream, and we are keenly aware of the company’s commitment to quality and outstanding service that is conveyed in the Gulfstream brand, “said Marti Watts, BRPH Vice President and Director of Manufacturing. “We are proud partners in helping Gulfstream as they create a larger network of modern facilities that provide unmatched customer service.”

The new facility will include hangar space, back shops and employee and customer offices. In addition to the anticipated LEED Silver certification, the facility is being designed with sustainable operations in mind. It will feature a fuel farm with a dedicated sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supply; low-flow plumbing fixtures; LED lighting; building management systems; and an energy-efficient HVAC system. The design also incorporates occupancy sensor-controlled lights, a white roof to reflect heat, native plants and low-water-demand landscaping. Gulfstream is also working with the airport authority to explore using green power from the electrical utility and installing solar panels on-site.

Since 2006, BRPH has performed more than 20 Gulfstream projects, ranging from modifications to existing buildings to designs for new large-scale facilities at operations in Savannah, Georgia; West Palm Beach, Florida; and Fort Worth, Texas.
“BRPH is delighted to continue our work with Gulfstream and excited to be serving the needs of this important aviation project from our recently expanded footprint in the Phoenix region,” Marti added. “We are thrilled to be serving clients like Gulfstream as they bring innovative aviation facilities to Arizona, providing opportunities for job creation and economic development.”
