Melbourne, Fla., Jan. 3, 2022 – BRPH is pleased to announce the promotion of Mathew C. Tyler to president of its Construction Services unit, assuming the role currently filled by Douglas W. Hyde. Hyde will continue to serve the firm as a senior vice president and project executive for several key clients as he makes a gradual transition toward retirement.
Tyler joined BRPH in April 2021 as executive vice president of Construction Services. He relocated from San Antonio, Texas, where he spent the previous six years as senior vice president of Granite Construction, Inc. He brings to the role more than 30 years of experience in the construction/design-build industry with domestic and international leadership roles for firms including CH2M Hill, Inc. Tyler will continue to work from the firm’s Melbourne headquarters.
“The BRPH board of directors and I are thrilled to have Matt at the helm of our Construction Services team. He and Doug have worked together seamlessly over the past year to provide a smooth transition for our clients and to plan for the future,” said Brian Curtin, PE, president & CEO and chairman of the board for BRPH. “We look forward to seeing Matt and his team continue to work seamlessly with our clients, primarily in the aerospace and defense and manufacturing industries, and our other business units to provide creative solutions for highly-specialized, challenging programs.”
BRPH formed its Construction Services unit in 1996 to address the needs of selected clients, primarily in the defense industry, who were seeking integrated turnkey solutions for specialized facilities or for projects with unique security constraints that make single-point responsibility for design and construction a necessity.
“I could not be happier with this opportunity to lead BRPH’s Construction Services business and the incredible team toward becoming industry-leading, world-class providers of built solutions,” said Tyler. “I plan to ensure our clients’ continued success by providing next-generation facility and infrastructure solutions that meet the unique and complex needs of this very specialized and technical market segment.”
Tyler earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Arizona State University and has completed graduate-level coursework in leadership, contract development and negotiations, and engineering management.
