Lexington Middle School
Lexington Middle School is the first of 12 schools planned from this three-story prototype in Lee County, FL. This school shares its athletic facilities with an adjacent county park, including a gymnasium large enough to accommodate community events. The school's design maximizes the use of day-lighting in the classrooms, minimizes sound transfer, and promotes teacher/student interaction. Each floor contains a single grade level, minimizing student movement between floors, and L-shaped hallways that are easily supervised from a single location. A satellite administration suite on each floor is located at the corner of the "L" for passive surveillance of both corridors throughout the day.
