Riverside High School

Sustainability meets secondary education at Riverside High School, a replacement school built while the existing facility remained in operation on the same campus. BRPH designed this school using recycled materials, low-emission adhesives and paints, and a roof equipped with solar panels, radiant heat barriers, and a future teaching garden. Sunlight illuminates every occupied space with light monitors to dim and illuminate artificial lighting as needed. The school's three-story academic buildings are interconnected with bridges and utilize a T-shaped circulation element for increased hallway supervision. The school's buildings share a common mall, creating a secure environment for Riverside's 1800 students and faculty.
