West Forsyth High School

Brick archways on the outside of the new West Forsyth High School are reminiscent of the 50-year-old high school it replaces, but inside, the school is a showcase for the 21st century classroom model. Incorporating the "brain-based learning" environment, academic wings are organized around open-air courtyards for natural light. Wide "main street" corridors connect classroom wings with an open-space feel. A centrally-located courtyard outside the cafeteria creates an inviting setting for student interaction and public gatherings. The school serves 1,950 students with expansion capabilities to 2,500 students.
