Pearl Harbor Child Development Center

The 30,600 SF child development center at Naval Station, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, will provide for the care of 304 children from the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years. The center will include 24 classrooms and community spaces as well as administrative offices, storage areas, and a laundry room. A full-service kitchen allows on-site preparation of daily meals. Exterior playgrounds employ tension fabric structures to provide protection from the sun on play areas. The design/build team of BRPH Architects-Engineers, Inc. and construction partner Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company of Honolulu, Hawaii, utilized Building Information Modeling (BIM) and sustainable design concepts for this project.
