Fort Gillem Readiness Center
The 88,000 SF Readiness Training Center at Fort Gillem, Ga., will be the home base for several units of the Georgia National Guard upon its completion in 2010. The facilities provide the National Guard with administrative offices, training areas, and specialized storage for hazardous and flammable materials. Antiterrorism measures and sustainable design features are included in the Readiness Center's design.
Design/build services are provided by BRPH Architects-Engineers, Inc. and Lifecycle Construction Services, LLC of Washington, D.C. BRPH used Building Information Modeling (BIM) for this project, enabling the design team to build a virtual model of the building and electronically generate the construction documents.
