Tomahawk Cruise Missile Facility

Project phasing and scheduling for the Tomahawk Cruise Missile Facility was of paramount importance. A total of 471,165 square feet were designed and built in 12 months, including a 286,370 SF Inert Assembly Building, a separate building addition, four Ordnance Service Magazines, and an Ordnance Assembly and Test Building. The Ordnance Assembly and Test Building's south wall, walls and roof of the test cells, and connecting corridors were constructed of heavy reinforced concrete, earthen covered, to protect against fragments from accidental detonation of a missile during testing. All design and construction was accomplished without disruption to the various on-going programs in adjacent buildings.
