John F. Kennedy Middle School
Flexibility is the key to this design which works equally well for elementary, middle, intermediate or K-8 facilities. The school's two-story configuration allows the lower grade classrooms to be situated on the first floor along with general use spaces such as administration, media center, cafetorium, and physical education. The main entry provides after hours community access to the general use spaces but restricts entry to the classroom areas which remain completely secure. Upper grade classrooms are located on the second floor along with a satellite administration office promoting the concept of a "school within a school".
