July 25, 2011

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA - BRPH's first Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) located at Pope Army Airfield in North Carolina is taking off. Construction just started on the $7.5M control tower. This represents the 9th project out of 10 won to date with design/build partner Lifecycle Construction Services since the beginning of 2009. Lifecycle and BRPH compete for these projects under three Multiple Award Task Order Contracts (MATOC) which are managed out of BRPH's Washington D.C. regional office.

The ATCT consists of 11 stories plus a catwalk level. The building includes bathrooms/showers, locker room areas, administrative area, break room, ready room, training rooms, mechanical/electrical areas, mechanical chase, stairs, elevator, and a simulator bay located on the first floor. The project also included the demolition of the existing tower and relocation of staff and existing equipment to the new tower once completed.

Completion is estimated for Spring 2012.
