BRPH Wins CM Contract at Wallops Island, Va.

Melbourne, Fla. (May 28, 2009) - BRPH Construction Services, Inc. was recently awarded a contract to provide construction management for space launch facilities at Wallops Island, VA. The contract was awarded by the Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority (dba MARS), in conjunction with Orbital Sciences Corporation and includes preconstruction and construction management services.
Facilities under this contract include a new $10+ million horizontal integration facility where the stages of multistage rockets are brought together before the assembled stack is rolled out to the launch complex and raised into vertical position for launch. This facility will have a pre-engineered metal building structure with deep foundations, overhead cranes, and support areas. The project also includes a $15+ million launch pad complex with fuel farm, cryogenic liquids and high pressure gasses, heavy hydraulics, and controls.
