November 10, 2011

WAUKESHA, WISCONSIN - There is impressive progress to report from the site of Waukesha Electric Systems’ expansion project in Wisconsin. The 140,000 SF transformer production and testing facility is 90% complete. BRPH is providing architectural/engineering design and construction administration services for Waukesha, one of the largest manufacturers of medium and large power transformers in theUnited States.

Waukesha’s facility will also be home to one of only a few high capacity cranes in the entire country. The new facility has multiple overhead cranes with lifting capacities up to 500 tons. The building height will include areas from 45’ to 70’ in the crane bays to the highest of 118' in the new test bay.

This expansion will greatly enhance the company’s ability to manufacture large, high-voltage power transformers that are utilized by electric utilities, independent power producers, and independent transmission operators.

The expansion is on track to meet LEED Silver certification and is expected to be completed in just a few months.
