Highland Oaks Relief Middle School received the 2008 Honor Award for Design from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Palm Beach Chapter.
This unique facility, a major renovation of a vacant "big-box" retail anchor store, became the award-winning solution to the problem of how to build an affordable educational facility in a largely built-out urban area.
